Building Maintenance Officer – Local Council

Our client is a local council south of the river and currently require a Building Maintenance Officer. This position is a full time 6 month contract.You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and constructing the City’s building assets. As part of this role you will be required to administer and implement the City’s Periodic Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, coordinate minor maintenance works and supervise the graffiti removal program. To be successful in this role, you will need the following;A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the area of building maintenance, facilities management or progress towards Certificate 4 in BuildingDemonstrated understanding of relevant Australian standards in facilities managementPrevious experience in a similar roleGood interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated experience in budget development and expenditure controlAbility to determine work priorities and organise activitiesDemonstrated ability to use initiative and to analyse problems and devise appropriate solutionsA comprehensive understanding of Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) Act & Regulations/ Codes of Practice, and knowledge of relevant Australian StandardsSound competencies in the use of Microsoft Word and ExcelCurrent C class drivers licenceCandidates will need to pass and pre-employment medical assessment and instant drug and alcohol testing at time of interview with us, prior to commencing.   • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in budget development and expenditure control
