Civil Design Coordinator – Local Council

Our client is a local council south of the river and they have the need for a Civil Design Coordinator commencing 1st July 2019 for a 6 week contract.The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Civil Design Team to deliver the annual capital works program as well as the City’s major projects. To be successful in this role, you will need the following;Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement for affiliate membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia) with substantial experience in civil design and traffic engineering in a local government environmentConsiderable experience in the design and/or construction of roads, drainage systems and municipal infrastructure in an urban environment or in traffic engineeringPrevious experience in preparing specifications, administering contracts and managing consultantsWorking knowledge of technical standards and specifications relating to road and drainage design such a MRWA, AustRoad, Australian Standards, and AR&RProficiency in the use of computer software including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD and GISWell-developed time management, organisation, and administration skillsWell-developed analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skillsAbility to develop effective working relationships with internal/external customersSound knowledge of estimating practices and proceduresAbility to work independently or effectively as part of a small teamCurrent C class drivers licenceCandidates will need to pass and pre-employment medical assessment and instant drug and alcohol testing at time of interview with us, prior to commencing.   • Well-developed time management, organisation, and administration skills
  • Well-developed analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal/external customers

  • Current C class drivers licence
