Customer Service & Records Coordinator

Our client is a local council located in Tom Price and they currently require a Customer Service and Records Coordinator to join their team. This is a 4 week contract with possible extension - Starting 4th November 2019.You will be responsible for the daily oversight of a small team of six employees based in Tom Price and Onslow as well as ensuring efficient delivery of a number of ongoing projects within the area.As part of this role you will be required to; Lead and supervise the Records and Customer Service teams and prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure continuous and effective service deliveryReview, develop and implement improvements to Records Management and Customer Service practices, policies and proceduresEnsure incoming and outgoing correspondence is processed in accordance with Shire Policy and record keeping requirementsEnsure initial Records Induction and training for all new staff is ongoing, and learning and development of existing staff is programmedEnsure the Shire’s Record Keeping Plan is reviewed and updated as per legislative requirementsMonitor staff compliance and management of records with the specific aim of direct and measurable improvements to these tasksEnsure confidentiality is maintained at all timesEnsure a high level of internal and external customer service at all timesTo be successful in this role you will have;Tertiary qualification in Information or Records Management or equivalent experiencePrevious supervisory experienceWell-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills\Well-developed time management and organisational skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret legislationChange management skillsAdvanced computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsGood understanding of electronic record keeping principlesKnowledge of Local Government Act and other legislative requirements, and the application of the State Records Act (WA) in relation to record keeping in Local GovernmentDemonstrated knowledge of Records Management principles and experience managing a local governmentWell-developed knowledge of the principles of Equal Opportunity, Diversity and Occupational Health and SafetyExperience using IT Vision SynergySoft software and Local Government Act Essentials - DesirableCurrent C Class Drivers LicenceCurrent National Police Clearance (dated within 6 months)All applicants must be able to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol on the day of interview. To be successful in this role you will have;
