Our client is a local council located in Tom Price and they currently require a Customer Service and Records Coordinator to join their team.
This is a 4 week contract with possible extension - Starting 4th November 2019.
You will be responsible for the daily oversight of a small team of six employees based in Tom Price and Onslow as well as ensuring efficient delivery of a number of ongoing projects within the area.
As part of this role you will be required to;
- Lead and supervise the Records and Customer Service teams and prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure continuous and effective service delivery
- Review, develop and implement improvements to Records Management and Customer Service practices, policies and procedures
- Ensure incoming and outgoing correspondence is processed in accordance with Shire Policy and record keeping requirements
- Ensure initial Records Induction and training for all new staff is ongoing, and learning and development of existing staff is programmed
- Ensure the Shire’s Record Keeping Plan is reviewed and updated as per legislative requirements
- Monitor staff compliance and management of records with the specific aim of direct and measurable improvements to these tasks
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service at all times
To be successful in this role you will have;
- Tertiary qualification in Information or Records Management or equivalent experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- \Well-developed time management and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret legislation
- Change management skills
- Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Good understanding of electronic record keeping principles
- Knowledge of Local Government Act and other legislative requirements, and the application of the State Records Act (WA) in relation to record keeping in Local Government
- Demonstrated knowledge of Records Management principles and experience managing a local government
- Well-developed knowledge of the principles of Equal Opportunity, Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety
- Experience using IT Vision SynergySoft software and Local Government Act Essentials - Desirable
- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- Current National Police Clearance (dated within 6 months)
