Planning Application Administrator-LOCAL COUNCIL

We are looking for Planning Applications Officer on a temporary full-time basis working Seventy Six (76) hours a fortnight Monday to Friday.This temporary assignment is to cover a vacant position based at our Civic Centre for the City of Belmont.To provide efficient administrative support in a range of areas relating to the effective operation of the Planning Services Department and in particular the management of the Planning Application process.Duties Include:Assessing Development Applications for suitability prior to lodgementAssisting customers with advice and information on the administrative aspects of Planning Services and in particular, development control processes and procedures.Providing administrative support to the Coordinator Design Projects and Planning Officers on matters proceeding to Development Assessment Panels (DAP).Assisting with maintaining Planning Application details including cancellations and refunds of application fees as required.Essential Requirements:Previous relevant administrative experience with proven ability to follow process driven systems preferably working within a technical environment.Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service.Proven high level skills with computer applications, in particular the Microsoft Office suite of products (ie Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) and preferably including experience with an electronic Records Management system and specialised technical programs.Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to apply attention to detail and effectively prioritise work and coordinate priorities to meet strict deadlines and achieve outcomes.Ability to research and write letters, reports and submissions particularly in relation to technical report writing.Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).Successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol Screening.   Australia - WA Perth Eastern Suburbs
