RESIDENTIAL LIAISON OFFICER – WASTE SERVICES

Our client is a Local Council that is seeking a temporary full time Resident Liaison Officer to work in their Wast Services team promoting waste reduction to the public.Commencing as soon as possible, the placement is up until April 2020.  Daily working hours are 9am-4pm (with some flexibility)     POSITION OBJECTIVESTo liaise with residents promoting waste reduction and recycling, and implement programs providing a community-friendly waste collection and disposal service.Investigate illegal dumping and collect evidence for prosecutions.Audit physical bins against registered bins and rectify any discrepancies.Ensure compliance with waste collection requirements.Provide a quality service to all residents and customers in regards to the provision of waste services.Assist with the development of educational material for waste management issues.Provide backup service, including lunch time relief, to the Waste Call Centre on incoming phone calls.    REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOBQualifications/Training/ExperienceExperience working in Local Government.Possession of a current National Police Clearance.Possession of a current WA "C" class driver’s licence.Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).Experience promoting community development programs (desirable).Experience as an Authorised Officer (desirable).Experience working in a technical environment.SkillsWell-developed verbal and written communication skills;Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills dealing with the public.Skilled at resolving conflict.Sound time management and organisational skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.Technical skills to set up surveillance cameras in littering/illegal dumping hotspots.Ability to read maps;Ability to work as part of a team.Knowledge Knowledge of Waste Services activities.Knowledge of administrative functions pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety legislation.   To be considered you must also be able to pass a  pre-employment physical and Drug and Alcohol screen   Australia - WA Perth Eastern Suburbs
