Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the afternoon shift operations. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities of the facility playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our heavy industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, and a proven track record in maintenance management.

• Mon - Fri  1pm - 11:30pm & Saturday 12pm - 6pm

• Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for maintenance staff and promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or near misses, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

• Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.
  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and spare parts inventory.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement efficiency improvements and enhance overall operations.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in maintenance management.

To be considered for this role, applicants will possess the following:

• Trade qualification, desirable but not essential.
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or Management, desirable but not essential
• Tertiary qualifications and/or training in Work Health and Safety, desirable but not essential
• High Risk Work Licenses
• Proven experience in Metal, Manufacturing or Mining Industry
• Proven experience in supervisory position for a minimum of three (3) years
• Proven understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation
• Advanced communication skills, proven ability to convey information in both verbal and written formats as appropriate for the needs of the target audience
• Advanced interpersonal skills, proven ability to develop rapport with others and form working relationships, listen effectively, manage conflict, understand human motivation, understand and respect cultural difference and have a global focus on interpersonal skills
