FABRICATION FOREPERSON - DIDO/OR LOCAL
Our client is an industry leader in road transport equipment design and engineering, offering a complete range of trailer solutions to the agricultural, mining, construction and general freight industries nationwide.
They now require a Fabrication foreperson for their Workshop located in Bruce Rock. This role is a vital link between the workshop floor and management.
As a Foreman in our Fabrication Workshop you are the vital link between the workshop floor and management.
- This role can be local or DIDO on a 9/5 Roster.
- Accommodation provided. Weekly LAFHA and Fortnightly Tool Allowance
- Between 10 - 12 hour days
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Overall supervision of your fabrication team consisting of approximately 20 trades people and apprentices
- Ensuring that all products leaving the workshop conform to the company quality standards.
- Daily liaising with the Operations Manager to ensure work flow and production targets are met.
- Assist with the allocation of staff and resources to enable products to be manufactured on time and on budget.
- Oversee and manage the training of apprentices
- Maintain safe work areas and practices at all times
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are regularly maintained.
- Foster and maintain the company culture at all times
- As a whole, ensure that products are manufactured in a safe, friendly environment, to the highest quality, within time frames and budgets
The successful candidate as a Foreman must possess and be able to demonstrate that they have:
- Trade qualifications as a Boilermaker/ fabricator and experience in a leadership role (Road transport industry experience is highly advantageous)
- Good problem-solving skills
- An eye for detail and the ability to work to precision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have good time keeping and job recording skills
- Must be an enthusiastic, positive and patient person who takes pride in their work and team results
- Ability to read and evaluate technical drawings and procedures
- Pass the company drug test
- Provide a current National Police Clearance certificate.
- Current Forklift ticket.
- Hold or obtain a Western Australian driver’s license
In addition to the above, other advantageous skills and experience are:
- Experience in a production line environment
- Leadership training
- HR or above driver’s license
- Crane operator’s tickets
The successful candidate must also be able to pass a pre employment physical including a D&A screen
