Mechanic / Workshop TA – Local Council

Our client is a local council located South of the River, and they are currently looking for a reliable Mechanic or Workshop TA with Loader experience.As part of this role you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the mechanical workshop to ensure that all fleet, plant, equipment and assets are managed and maintained in accordance with current best practice, OSH requirements and statutory regulations.  You will require the following to be successful;Mechanical Trade certificate / qualification is essentialRecent and substantial hands on experience and strong mechanical aptitudeExperience in the repair and maintenance of cars, trucks and small mobile plant equipment including LoadersCertificate to operate plant equipment - LoaderIntermediate computer skills, including MS Office suite of productsWell-developed problem solving skillsGood communication and customer service skillsHighly developed time management and organisational skills and abilitiesAbility to work unsupervised or in a team environmentWell-developed written and numerical skillsCurrent Senior First Aid CertificateCurrent WA C Class drivers licenceHR drivers licence and local government experience preferred but not essentialSuccessful candidates must be able to pass a Pre Employment Medical including instant Drug and Alcohol testing on the day of the interview with us. Mechanic / Workshop TA - Local Council

Our client is a local council located South of the River, and they are currently looking for a reliable Mechanic or Workshop TA with Loader experience.

As part of this role you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the mechanical workshop to ensure that all fleet, plant, equipment and assets are managed and maintained in accordance with current best practice, OSH requirements and statutory regulations.  

You will require the following to be successful;

  • Mechanical Trade certificate / qualification is essential
  • Recent and substantial hands on experience and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of cars, trucks and small mobile plant equipment including Loaders
  • Certificate to operate plant equipment - Loader
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office suite of products
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills and abilities
  • Ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment
  • Well-developed written and numerical skills
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current WA C Class drivers licence
  • HR drivers licence and local government experience preferred but not essential
